RICHARD GARNER
Rick is an award-winning mortgage broker and financial adviser with over 20 years in financial services. Since 2002, he’s helped hundreds of clients navigate complex financial decisions across lending, wealth management, and investment strategy.
His experience spans the full spectrum of lending – residential home loans, commercial loans, equipment finance, debtor finance, and cashflow lending. But his expertise extends well beyond mortgages. Rick serves as a non-executive director on the board of Qantas Superannuation Limited (QSL), which manages approximately $8.5 billion in assets. He currently serves on the Audit and Risk Committee and the Member Experience & Insurance Committee, and previously served on the Investment Committee.
Rick is also deeply experienced in property investment and development, covering everything from feasibility analysis and financing to risk management, project management, and delivery.
As a qualified financial adviser with a decade of experience serving both wholesale and retail clients, Rick has been authorised by three AFS licensees and appointed as a responsible manager by ASIC for a boutique AFSL. This license included authorisation for sophisticated products like derivatives and foreign exchange – capabilities that go beyond standard wealth management licensing and enable him to provide bespoke, complex solutions for high-net-worth clients.
Beyond finance, Rick is an international airline pilot flying the A330 Airbus for a major Australian airline and spent five years in the Australian Defence Force. He has three sons and enjoys sailing, rugby, and golf.
